The heaviest and softest of common metals. Resists corrosion, ductile, highly malleable, high luster. Used in batteries, paint, flux, glass, piping, filler, and explosives. Lead ranks near copper. Lead is used for Storage batteries, cable covering, white lead, building, ammunition, solder and bearing metal.
