A silvery-white metallic element. In recent years it has been used for rocket engines and specially for space flight applications. Cesium is used for many different things. It is in demand for photoelectric cells, which are used for talking pictures, television, Traffic controls, automatic door opening, and similar purposes. Cesium is also used in radio tubes. It is obtained from the mineral pollucite, which is mined at Bernic Lake.
